Dr. Alice Brunner, Director of the First Year Advising Center

Alice began her career at FGCU in the summer of 1997. Her work with first-year students has included oversight of orientation activities, first year advising services and parent outreach and relations. She has also taught freshmen seminar, coordinated New Student Convocation and has been involved in both the First Year Reading Project and the Learning Academy, a progressive learning community designed for first year students. Alice has served as chapter advisor to the Florida Gulf Coast University chapter of Phi Eta Sigma Freshman National Honor Society since its initial charter in April 1999. Alice earned a BA in psychology and M.Ed. in counselor education from Florida Atlantic University. She earned her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. Alice is a native of Tennessee but has lived in Florida for over 30 years.
