Major and Career Guidance - The likelihood of happiness and success in your career is greatly enhanced when you select a career that is consistent with your skills, interests, personality preferences, and values.

Here are some activities to help you in the selection process:
- Meet with a counselor from Counseling and Psychological Services, who will help you identify your unique personal characteristics, and show you how those characteristics relate to selecting a major and career. To make an appointment, call (239)590-7950 or email caps@fgcu.edu.
- Meet with one of the Career Service staff to help make contacts with professionals in an area of interest.
- Conduct an "Informational Interview" or participate in a "Job Shadowing" experience. This is a great way for students to see what a job is really like.

- Stop by the Career Center, which is located on the first floor of Howard Hall.
- Attend our events designed to help students explore different careers and industries.
- Consider using the Service Learning experience as a way to learn more about possible careers or fields of interest.
