Theme housing refers to the unique communities within North Lake Village.
The following theme housing opportunities are available:
Honors Community
The Honors Community is an ideal place for students who want live on campus in a residence hall especially designed for academically motivated students. Centrally located and lakefront, the Honors Hall provides a living environment that allows students of a higher academic success to interact, grow, and develop together. This doesn't mean life will be boring! Honors residents don't just concentrate on their books, they tend to be some of the more involved students on campus, taking leadership roles throughout the University, involving themselves in the community through service learning, participating in the arts, and leading school spirit.

Honors Community Requirements:
- Maintain an overall 3.3 cumulative GPA
- Observe quiet hours
- Participate in Honors Hall educational programs

Nursing Major Hall
Students majoring in Nursing, this is your chance to be a part of an exciting and meaningful residence hall program. You are invited to apply to live in FGCU’s North Lake Village Nursing Major Hall. Living in this Hall enables students to get to know others with interests similar to their own, participate in a peer mentor program, form study groups to assist with difficult classes, and benefit from a close working relationship with faculty and the residence life staff. Most importantly nursing students in this living learning community will develop a close connection with the School of Nursing to enhance the skills and attitudes needed to actively participate in and shape the future of professional nursing.
Nursing Community Requirements:
- Residents must be currently enrolled and is in good standing in the Nursing or pre-Nursing programs.
- Residents must be willing to plan or participate in programs and activities of importance to health professionals.
- Residents must be willing to commit to active participation during formal and informal programs.

Wellness Community
The Wellness Community offers an environment that promotes and encourages learning in conjunction with the development of the eight dimensions of Wellness: social, environmental, physical, cultural, spiritual, occupational, emotional, and intellectual.

Wellness Community Requirements:
- Student residents are expected to abstain from the use of alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs in their personal lives
- Support a living environment which promotes abstinence as part of a healthy lifestyle

Engineering Hall:
The role of the Engineering Hall at FGCU is to provide students an environment conducive to success in their rigorous academic program. Students who choose to live in the Engineering Hall will have the opportunity to live and learn among other students who have an interest in pursuing a degree offered through the U.A. Whitaker School of Engineering. Living in the Engineering Hall will allow students to experience greater academic support opportunities, build friendships, and support academic achievement.
Engineering Community Requirements:
- Residents of the Engineering Hall must be currently enrolled and is in good standing in one of FGCU’s Engineering or Pre-Engineering programs.
- Residents must be willing to plan or participate in programs and activities of importance to engineering professionals.
- Residents in the Engineering Hall are encouraged to participate in the ongoing programmatic efforts in their community.
