Parents, family members, and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend Eagle View Orientation with their student. However, it is only MANDATORY that your student attend an Eagle View Orientation session in its entirety.
The Eagle View Orientation Family Program is designed to facilitate a transition for parents and families of new FGCU students. You will be introduced to university policies and procedures, information and resources. The parent and family orientation program is a great way to ask questions of administrators, faculty, staff members, and current FGCU students!
Important information such as financial aid, housing, meal plans, parking services, tuition fees and payment will be presented. Additionally, question and answer sessions with the Orientation Leaders (students) and faculty/administrators will help ease the transition. Also, the Eagle View Orientation Professional Staff will be available to you at any time to assist you with your visit to FGCU. Another benefit of attending Eagle View Orientation with your student is the opportunity to interact with other families who are also experiencing or have already experienced the collegiate transition.
Orientation is a very important step in the admissions process. At orientation students will be acclimated to the university for the first time. They will learn about the academic requirements of the university and pick out their classes for their first semester. This is their chance to make connections with other students that are starting at the university with them.
Only after your student has been admitted to the university can they sign up for orientation.
