When my student registered for orientation they didn't sign me up to attend with them.  How do I do that now?
Unfortunately we are unable to register additional guests after a student has signed up for orientation.  However, you are more than welcome to attend orientation!  Simply come to the program with your student and you will be able to pay the guest fee during the check-in process.  Click here to view a fee schedule.

Will families attend the entire Eagle View Orientation with their students?
Parents/guests attending the FTIC student’s Spring (one day) orientation will participate with their student for most of the program; however, a separate information session for parents will be offered while students are meeting with an advisor and completing course registration.

Parents/guests attending the FTIC student’s Summer or Fall (two day) orientation will participate in a separate but concurrent two day parent & guest program that focuses on the issues that are of particular importance to you. Your student will spend some time with you during both days of the program, but the majority of their program will take place separately, so they can begin to meet some new people, learn important information, and start to feel comfortable with addressing their questions and concerns on their own.

Parents/guests attending a transfer (one day) orientation will participate with their student for most of the program; however, a separate information session for parents will be offered while students are meeting with an advisor and completing course registration.

Is it mandatory that parents or other family members attend orientation?
It is not mandatory that family members attend the program, although it is strongly encouraged as a way for you to learn all about FGCU.  Only the student is required to attend Orientation.

Can I bring a child to orientation?
Given the length and nature of the program, it is best if you arrange for child care on the day of orientation. If circumstances dictate that you have to bring a child to the EVO program, however, we will ask you to leave the room if he or she is being disruptive.

Where should I stay if I need lodging?
We are not able to provide overnight accommodations for parents, guests, or transfer students. Individuals needing to stay overnight in Fort Myers will need to secure hotel reservations.  Click here for a list of local hotels.
