How long does Orientation last?
Program check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.  The orientation program is a half day in length and should conclude at approximately 1 p.m. once advising and registration are completed.

How do I know if I need to take the Math Placement Test?  What is on the Math Placement Test?
The math placement test is for FRESHMAN (FTIC) students only. When you attend orientation, you will meet with an academic advisor and you can discuss if additional math courses are necessary upon completion of the General Education Program.

What should I bring to Orientation?
It would be a good idea to bring your EVO confirmation, as well as your parking pass.  A pen and paper are important to take down important information. A sweater is also a good idea as our meeting rooms can be cold.  If you were recently admitted, we recommend that you bring an unofficial copy of your transcripts to share with your advisor so that you can discuss appropriate course placement.

Can I bring my child to Orientation?
Given the length and nature of the program, it is best if you arrange for child care on the day of orientation.  If circumstances dictate that you have to bring your child to the EVO program, however, be advised that you can be asked to leave the program at any point if he or she is being disruptive, and return on your own to complete a separate program in its entirety.

Where should I stay if I need lodging?
We do not provide overnight accommodations for parents, guests, or transfer students. Individuals needing to stay overnight in Fort Myers will need to secure hotel reservations.  For a list of local hotels please see the Lodging link
