Cathy Doyle joined Florida Gulf Coast University as Director of Student Support Services and Outreach Programs in December 2006 after serving three years as the Florida Marketing Director for CollEDGE Loans. Cathy previously served as District Director for the Student Support Services Program, Students with Disabilities Program, and Single Parent Program at Edison College. Prior to that, Cathy served as Director of Counseling, Advising, Assessment, Recruitment, and Career Center. These experiences enabled her to assist with the development and implementation of the Project Hope Program; a college-wide tutorial program; Upward Bound Program; Peer Mentoring Program, and the Child Care Center providing academic and personal support to underrepresented students. Ms. Doyle has a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor's in English and History from the University of Charleston in West Virginia. "The best part of being in education is the students. I thrive on working with students and affecting their educational development in a learning environment such as Florida Gulf Coast University."

Susan Genson, Assistant Director, has been with Student Support Services and Outreach Programs since January 2005. Prior to coming to FGCU, Susan worked for 13 years in Adult and Continuing Education at Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin, where she earned her B.A. in Business Management and Communications, and M.S. in Student Personnel Administration. Susan enjoys working with students, advising and guiding them as they progress from their freshman year to graduation.

Julie Rose is the Student Support Services Coordinator in the Office of Outreach Programs. She graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with her bachelor's degree and is currently pursuing her master's degree in Public Administration. Julie worked at Edison State College in both the Upward Bound and Student Support Services programs where she assisted underrepresented high school and college students for five years. She has assisted students with scholarship searches, admission applications, the financial aid process, and advising. Julie is an alumnus of Student Support Services. She loves working with students and helping them to get the most out of their university experience.

Darlyn Scott is a native of Fort Myers, FL. He is a graduate of FGCU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, with future aspirations of being either a university Dean or Program Director of his own after-school program. " It was through my daily interactions with the Office of Outreach Programs and other individuals on campus who helped mold and shape me into the person I am today."

Michele Gawor was hired by FGCU in 2005 as a part-time employee in Finance and Accounting and joined the Office of Outreach Programs in January 2008. This is her first experience in the educational atmosphere. Michele has worked in a variety of fields including Bookkeeping, Secretarial, Human Resources, Benefits Administration, and Sales. She enjoys working with young adults and hopes to continue assisting them with their future endeavors.

Dr. Sally Berg has been working in the office of Outreach Programs as a Community Liaison since the summer of 2007. Her primary responsibility has been to expand the College Reach Out Programs into the middle and high schools in Hendry and Glades Counties. After teaching science in public schools for many years, she was named the Director of Hendry Glades Services for Edison College and filled that position for 12 years. She retired in 2006 but remains active as a member of the Hendry County School Board on which she has served since 2000. Sally earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of Central Florida, her Masters from the University of South Florida, and her Bachelors in Biology from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio.
