Welcome to Leadership Programs at Florida Gulf Coast University. If you're looking to grow as a person and develop your leadership skills then you've come to the right place. FGCU offers a wide variety of leadership programs for students in any academic year and leadership level. Below we have a brief summary about some of the leadership development programs our office offers. Mission Statement

The Leadership Development program is committed to the holistic experience of students by providing leadership skill development opportunities for the Florida Gulf Coast University community. Through such initiatives, individuals will practice, reflect and apply leadership knowledge and skills that will empower individuals to question critically, think logically, and live ethically while becoming active citizens within the Florida Gulf Coast University community and the rapidly changing world.

Student Leadership Academy: Using interactive workshops, discussions and opportunities to make connections with other students, faculty, staff and local community leaders, the Leadership Academy integrates leadership education, training, development, and engagement in an open, dynamic, and challenging learning environment.

Leadership Summit: The Student Leadership Summit is a daylong leadership development program that is intended to network student leaders with one another in order to promote collaborative efforts, help develop leadership skills, and build lasting relationships.

LeaderShape: The LeaderShape Institute is an intensive and energizing six-day program that exists to inspire, develop, and support students who have a commitment to lead with a high level of integrity.

College Leadership Florida: College Leadership Florida is based on the belief that knowledge is a key element and prime motivator of leadership. The program will feature lectures and symposia by noted government, business and community leaders, consultants and professional educators.

Emerging Eagles: The Emerging Eagles Program is a leadership development program designed for first year students and others seeking to develop their leadership skills. The program focuses on experiential activities, small group discussions and personal development in order to prepare student leaders for more advanced leadership roles in the university community.

The Lead Team: The “Lead Team” is a service-oriented board devoted to enhancing the potential of student organizations within the FGCU community by providing resources, consultations, and training workshops that will provide and build upon a solid leadership foundation.

Who's Who: Who's Who Among Students is a prestigious honor given to Undergraduate and Graduate students who show exceptional leadership, service, and scholastic achievement. Students are recognized throughout the campus, as well as on a national level. Recipients of this award are eligible for scholarships through the national Who's Who organization. Winners will also be recognized at the Student Awards Banquet.
