Julie Gleason

Director of Student Involvement

Julie is originally from Freehold, New Jersey and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Pomona, NJ. She earned her Master of Science degree in Higher Education from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. Julie has worked in the areas of Residential Life and Greek Affairs since graduating with her Master's degree and will now be serving as the Director for Student Involvement. In her spare time, Julie enjoys reading, traveling, the beach, and watching college football, especially her beloved Seminoles.

Matt Schorsch

Coordinator for Student Organization Development

Matt is the proud product of Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb of the greatest city in the world, Chicago!  Matt received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Purdue University (Boiler Up!).  As an undergraduate Matt was very active in the Purdue community as a student leader.  Matt held several officer positions for different student organizations, he also held student leadership positions for several student leadership conferences, worked for the student newspaper and was a Teaching Assistant for three years.  After graduation Matt spent three years working in downtown Chicago at a midsize corporate travel management company as their Corporate Sales Manager.

After retiring from the corporate world, Matt returned to school to pursue his Masters of Arts in School Guidance and Counseling at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.  At Lewis, Matt was a Graduate Assistant for Student Development and Leadership, where he helped establish and advise The PULSE, Lewis’s first student programming board.  Among their numerous accomplishments the PULSE culminated their inaugural year with a campus wide concert.  Matt also helped lead a multi-department team in developing the Emerging Leaders Development Conference, a one day conference held in the spring for emerging student leaders at Lewis University.  He spent five years as volunteer assistant football coach for his high school alma mater’s freshmen football team working primarily with the offensive and defensive lines.

Matt is diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, he enjoys traveling and hanging out at the beach.

Joseph McGibboney

Coordinator for Programming

Joseph is originally from Perth Abmboy, New Jersey. He holds a Masters of Education Degree in College Student Affairs from the University of South Florida.

For his undergraduate career, Joseph attended The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor

of Science degree in Sociology (Go Seahawks!!!). In his free time, Joseph enjoys spending time watching TV, spending time with friends, and weightlifting.

Joseph is a certified cheer coach and a fitness instructor for LesMills.

Stacy Hopkins

Executive Secretary for Student Government

Stacy Hopkins was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and has lived in many interesting places due to her father being in the military. She graduated from a local high school, attended college at the University of Florida but settled back in Fort Myers to raise her family. Stacy started working at Florida Gulf Coast University in December 2000 and transferred to Student Government in the Fall of 2004.

Hobbies: reading, watching movies, Pilates and spending time with her granddaughter, Chloe.

Bruce Danielson

Program Assistant

Bruce is native of Southwest Florida, where he has lived here for over 20 years. He attended Cape Coral High School and is currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. He looks forward to being a member of the FGCU community for many years to come. In his spare time he likes to cook, read, sail, hang out with friends, and volunteer with his old boy scout troop.

Tori Hopkins

Student Assistant

Tori was born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida. Tori is a junior majoring in nursing. She enjoys knitting, crafting, hanging out with her two best friends, and her FGCU ruggers. Tori also loves watching a good horror movie!

Thomas Dix

Student Assistant

Thomas was born in Plantation, Florida but grew up in Lauderhill and Pompano Beach, where he went to Pompano Beach High School. He is currently a Junior at FGCU, a double majoring in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies. Thomas previously attended Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, where he played football and pursued a degree in Mass Communication. He loves to play basketball, football, lift weights, play video games, listen to music and long walks on the beach looking at the sunset. He is heavily involved with Black Student Alliance.

Favorite Shows: Law & Order, Sportscenter, Dark Blue, & Avatar.

Favorite Movies: The Lion King, Gladiator, & The Dark Knight.

Favorite Food: Chicken Parm with Spahgetti and Meat Sauce.

Trina Green

Student Assistant

Trina was born in West Palm Beach, Florida.  She is currently a senior, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Gender Studies and Sociology at FGCU. She enjoys reading the Bible, singing, styling hair and fishing.  She is an amazing inspirational speaker and does not mind helping people with their problems.  She also loves going to church and spending time with her family and friends.

Marisol Diaz

Student Assistant

Marisol was born and raised in Immokalee, Florida.  She is currently a sophomore majoring in Communication and Business Management.  Marisol loves attending church and is involved in young adult ministry.  She also enjoys dancing, running, biking, kick-boxing and playing sports such as volleyball and basketball. Best of all, she loves her family and friends dearly!

Favorite Foods: Mexican and Puertorican food.

Annatasia DeAngelis

Marketing Assistant

Anna is from Spring Hill, Florida. She is currently a junior majoring in marketing. Anna loves being involved on campus, developing her marketing skills, and working out!

Amy Costa

Leadership Development Assistant

Amy is currently a senior majoring in psychology. Amy was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida. She works for the Office of Housing and Residence Life, Student Government

as the Director of Leadership Development and as a student assistant for the Office of Student Involvement. Amy plans to graduate this semester, and attend graduate school

for higher education and student affairs. In her free time Amy likes to hang out with her friends and relax.
