CLEP
**Online
registration is now available. Please see the online registration link
under registration information.**
College-Level
Examination Program (CLEP) CLEP is a series of tests that allow you
to show your knowledge in specific areas and gain college credit.
Each institution establishes what score is necessary in
order to earn credit at that institution. It is the student’s
responsibility to check directly with their school before taking any test.
Institutional policies vary and you may waste time and money if you fail to
investigate. No letter grades are assigned to CLEP results and CLEP credits
do not affect grade point averages. FGCU will accept up to a maximum of 45
hours of CLEP credit towards a bachelor's degree. For specific information
regarding credit for CLEP at FGCU, please refer to the catalog or check
with your Academic Advisor.
CLEP computer-based testing is offered through the FGCU
Testing Center.
OFFICE HOURS: Monday through Friday,
8:30 am to 5:00 pm
TESTING HOURS: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
REGISTRATION PROCESS:
The FGCU Testing Center is an "open" test center
for CLEP and we are happy to provide CLEP testing services to FGCU
students, students from other schools, as well as the general public. We
will schedule test times in the order in which completed registrations are
received (this includes test administration fees).
Registration may be accomplished online, in person or by
mail, and must be received in the Testing Office no later than 24 hours in
advance of the time you wish to test. NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE TEST
WITHOUT THE PRESENTATION OF TWO ID'S- one must be a government issued ID
with signature and the second with a photo ID AND/OR signature. Two
separate fees must be paid:
I. Payable to the FGCU Testing Center: $25.00 (per test,
Non-Refundable)
*The administration fee must be paid at the time you
register for the test. Each test requires a separate administration fee.
This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you need or want to
reschedule your test date the fee must be repaid prior to rescheduling.
II. Payable to CLEP: $77.00
(per test)
*The test fee goes directly to the National CLEP office and
may be paid for by check, credit card, or money order on the day of the
test. The preferred method of payment is credit card (American Express,
Visa, or Master Card only). You will need to tell the Testing Center when
you register how you will be paying for your test on your test date. If you
will be paying by credit card on the day of your test, you will personally
enter your credit card number and expiration date into the computer. If you
will be paying by check, your check needs to be made payable to CLEP and
must be a separate payment from the administration fee paid to the Testing
Center.
