Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
The GRE® General Test measures critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study. The GRE® Subject Tests gauge undergraduate achievement in eight specific fields of study. Most institutions require just the General Test. You may need to check with the Graduate Admission's Office to determine if your institution or program requires the GRE Subject Test.

The GRE is used for admission to most all programs except for the Master's in Business Administration (MBA) (see GMAT below). The GRE test is administered at Thomson Prometric test sites. To register visit www.prometric.com Another good resource regarding the GRE is www.ets.org/gre

Schools use the test as one predictor of academic performance in an MBA program or in other graduate management programs. The GMAT® exam measures basic verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills that you have developed over a long period of time in your education and work.

GRE/GMAT REVIEW COURSE AT FGCU
FGCU offers GRE and GMAT Review courses. The courses are offered twice a year beginning in September and January and run for 12 weeks. The GRE meets on Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and the GMAT on Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Each course costs $300.00. In addition you are required to purchase the Barron’s GRE or GMAT Review book (latest edition) which is available in most local bookstores. The course includes 7 weeks of math review and 5 weeks of English review. These math and English sections cannot be purchased/taken separately.

Seating for either course is limited and seats are filled on a 'first-come-first-served' basis. Registration can be accepted up to the second night of the class. However, registration will close once all seats are filled, which could occur before the course begins. REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Here are some student's written comments
at the conclusion of the Spring 06 courses:

"Amazing job, would recommend to anyone. Improved my score by 150 points (math section)."

"This is a great class! I am so glad I took it!" (English section)

"This was one of the best math courses I've taken. I feel that I will do much better on the GMAT, I'll let you know for sure."

"Easy going and borderline brilliant, could have been the most enjoyable class setting a teacher has had me in ever. Thank you."
