Making the Decision to go to Graduate School:
So you’re thinking about graduate school. It is a major decision and one that you should give careful thought.
You can start by considering your personal motivation. Some students are going on to graduate or professional school to prepare themselves for a specific field. Some just enjoy the academic environment and are driven by intellectual curiosity. However, some may see the grad school option as a way to postpone job hunting or make themselves more marketable, even if the graduate degree may not be necessary, or even helpful, for their chosen profession. And some may even be doing it to satisfy other people’s expectations of them. Whatever your reason may be, it is a significant investment of time, energy, and money.
So, feel free to contact a Career Advisor if you would like to discuss your options and make sure graduate school is right for you.
