ABOUT US

Priya Thomas is a Masters level counselor in CAPS, serving as the Counselor-in-Residence for FGCU.  She is beginning the application process to become a State of Florida Register Intern, with plans to work towards becoming a License Mental Health Counselor. Priya received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in December of 1999 and her M.Ed. in Counseling from the same institution in July of 2005.  As an undergraduate, Priya worked as a Community Advisor (CA) in the department of Residential Life. In her graduate career, she was the Peer Educator Graduate Assistant in the Wellness Resource Center at MU. Both of these experiences will enhance Priya’s ability to work with both Residence Life and Wellness and Prevention at FGCU as the Counselor-in-Residence. Priya will work in CAPS part-time, and the rest of her time will be working out of the Wellness and Prevention outpost office, working with that office as well as Residence Life.
