 Academic Retention Program

Mission Statement:

"The Academic Retention Program staff encourages, guides, and supports students on Academic Warning and/or Probation. We help students with goal setting, study skills, tutoring, motivation, time management, stress management, and other areas of concern. Our goal is to help students attain 'Good Standing' and educate them with the skills needed for academic success."

If you recently received a letter from the Registrar stating that you were placed on academic warning/probation, you can begin the process of returning to Good Standing, here, with four easy steps:

1. Fill out the online paperwork which can be accessed through the link listed below.

  Academic Warning/Probation Forms

2. You need to make an appointment with a retention specialist in the Center for Academic Achievement:

Call (239) 590-7906 or email CAA@fgcu.edu to set up your appointment.

3. After meeting with us you will be given a Personal Action Plan for academic achievement, which includes a requirement to attend our Success Seminars and to have follow up appointments with the office of Academic Retention. You will need a copy of this plan to take to your academic advisor.

4. Make an appointment with your academic advisor to register for classes. This meeting needs to take place after you see us as you will need our signature in order for your academic advisor to register you.
