Congratulations on making one of the best decisions of your collegiate experience and participating in a Registered Student Organization! Your experience in college is not just about what happens in the classroom, it's also about what you do with your time outside the classroom. You will discover very quickly over your four years how valuable it is for you to be involved. Florida Gulf Coast University recognizes the contributions Student Organizations make to an effective learning environment that prepares students to live in an ever growing multi-cultural society and a global community. Student Organizations serve as a medium for academic discourse, personal growth, leadership development, intercultural understanding, community service, and lasting friendships.
Coordinator for Student Organization Development
I am a native of Florida, born and raised in Pensacola. I earned both my bachelor’s degree (B.A., Criminal Justice) and master’s degree (M.Ed., College Student Affairs Administration) from the University of West Florida. As an undergraduate student I was actively involved on and off campus; some of the programs/departments include: Undergraduate Admissions, Campus Activity board, Homecoming Student Executive board, Student Government Association, Intramural Sports, Fraternity and Sorority life, Student Alumni Association, Vice President for Student Affairs Advisory Board, the list could go on and on.
As a graduate student at the University of West Florida I had the privilege of serving as the graduate assistant for both Undergraduate Admissions and Student Organizations. My passion for student development and student organizations manifested in grad school. I had great professors, supervisors and students to learn from, which truly enriched my experience.
Fun facts: I love bowling, country music and the beach! My favorite colors are red, blue and lime green. I am also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
